Ukraine student visa is a long-term visa type D-13 which is issued to foreigners and stateless persons for entry to Ukraine based to pursue studying in high educational facilities and allows to apply for temporary residence permit.

Student visa Ukraine requirements
Any person who has basic full secondary education level can apply for admission to Ukrainian universities. Prospective and current students can study in Ukraine.
All international applicants coming to Ukraine intending to study must obtain a student visa, which is only possible upon receiving an invitation to study from the desired university they are applying to. The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine defines the standard of the invitation letter.

How can I get Ukraine student visa?
First of all you have to register your invitation letter from the desired university with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the university has to send us the following documents:
– passport Copy of valid passport;
– personal-data Consent to the processing of personal data document;
– copy of document from previous education.
Basically, you can communicate with desired university by your own or trough a representative agency, or a lawyer.
Documents for Ukraine students visa:
To obtain a long stay visa (type D-13), a prospective student shall submit a series of documents to the consulate or embassy of Ukraine in their respective country as indicated on the embassy’s website.
According to Ukraine’s Visa Rules all applicants should provide the following documents in order to apply for their visa:
1. passport/travel document which should comply with these requirements:
– be valid for at least 3 months after the intended date of departure from Ukraine;
– have at least 2 pages free from any visas/marks/stamps;
– be issued for no more than 10 years.
2. printed and signed visa application form;
3. 1 applicant’s photo (35×45 mm);
4. proof that the applicant is a holder of (or is entitled to benefit from) a valid medical/travel insurance policy to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide a minimum of €30 000 or equivalent coverage);
5. proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement for 2-6 recent months, cash in Ukrainian hryvnia/other convertible currency, bank cards along with current/savings account balance statements provided the bank cards can be cashed in Ukraine, hotel/accommodation booking, letter from the applicant’s employer/sponsor confirming their coverage of applicant’s expenses in Ukraine, a return/transit ticket etc);
6. paid visa fee receipt (unless stipulated otherwise by Ukraine’s legislation or Ukraine’s international treaty);
Please note that in cases where applicants reside in a country that is different from the country of their nationality/citizenship Ukraine’s Embassies/Consulates abroad may only be able to accept visa applications from applicants holding valid temporary/permanent residence documents (long-term visas/residence permits or their equivalents etc.).
Regardless of where you submit your documents, you will always be asked to include the original “Invitation to study”.
It is important to stress your attention that the documents from your previous education must be officially certified before submission to the consulate.
This can be done one of two ways:
– legalised by the Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Ukraine in your country;
– or certified by Apostille stamp and legalized at the Embassy of Ukraine in your country.
These documents must be officially recognized in Ukraine for a Ukrainian university to be able to issue your diploma certificate upon graduation.
Citizens of countries with which Ukraine has signed a visa-free regime agreement (Georgia, Moldova, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan) do not require a visa to Ukraine, but shall provide an original or photocopy of the “Invitation to study” when crossing the Ukrainian border to verify the purpose of their visit to Ukraine.
What else is important for Ukraine student visa?
Authorized person upon receipt of the original visa application form and other documents may request additional documents if necessary and conducts a personal interview if necessary.
