The quarantine till June 22 and opened borders in July

Quarantine in Ukraine is planned to be extended until June 22, but it will become adaptive. If the country will experience dynamics to reduce the number of people infected with coronavirus, then its early cancellation is possible.

This was announced by Deputy Minister of Health, Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko on the air of the program “Breakfast from 1 + 1”.

“We will extend quarantine until June 22, but it will be adaptive with mitigating measures. Everything will depend on the epidemiological situation”, Lyashko said.

He added that in the case of a sharp decrease in the number of new infections, restrictive measures can be canceled ahead of schedule.

“We will be on the plateau, but we cannot take seasonality into account. We do not understand how the virus will behave in the summer in our conditions,” the chief sanitary doctor added.

Then, during today day, there was an official briefing of the Ministry of Health, where was reported the following.

The Minister of Health, Maxim Stepanov, has named the following milestone dates for the quarantine measures introduced because of the coronavirus pandemic. It is May 22, June 1, June 10 and June 21.

He said this during an online briefing, on Tuesday, May 19, the video was published on Facebook.

“We will introduce these stages on May 22, June 1, June 10 and from June 21,” the minister said.

According to him, the criteria for easing the restrictions are the incidence rate per 100 thousand population of a particular area over the past seven days, the number of hospitals receiving patients with coronavirus infection, as well as the number of tests in the area.

If the area meets the criteria, then it will be able to proceed to the next stage of quarantine mitigation.

In addition, during the same day, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal  has announced on live on ICTV that Ukraine can resume transport, and by the 25th to open kindergartens and subways.

We expect that international flights will be available starting from end of June – early July.
