Ukraine has improved working conditions for foreigners: the main advantages

UA government simplified the rules of work and temporary employment in Ukraine for foreigners. The President signed a new Law that will simplify employment not only for them but also for temporary residence permit issuing. The Law will come into force in September 2017. At the same time, citizens of other countries and experts are already talking about its benefits.

Dutch Michael Honder is in Ukraine for the fifth time. A man works in a greenhouse salad company, is responsible for the quality of the product and its implementation. According to her husband, it is very difficult to obtain a temporary residence permit in Ukraine.

Typically, lawyers of the company used to help Michael. His director argued to the authorities that the firm needed this particular foreign specialist.

But in late June, the President of Ukraine signed a Law that changes the rules of employment and temporary residence of foreigners. The companies of the members of the European Business Association, along with People’s Deputy Sergey Kiral, worked on it.

The procedure for obtaining employment permits has been simplified for foreign founders and beneficiaries, graduates of universities that are among hundreds of world rankings, foreign IT professionals and creative professionals.

The employer no longer needs to apply for a vacancy for a foreigner at the Employment Center. Instead of seven documents for work permits for citizens of other countries, now only four will be needed. The residence permit will be valid for three years, not like for one year earlier.

In European countries, the basis for the registration of the right to temporary residence is an investment. Different countries have different amounts.

In Ukraine, we have introduced a minimum investor contribution to the economy of the country, which will give him the right to obtain a certificate. This is 100 thousand Euros or the equivalent in another currency,
– said co-author of the law Christina Onishchenko.

The law itself will come into force on September 27, 2017.
