Ukraine plans to lift the quarantine ban on the entry of foreigners – MFA

The Ukrainian government is preparing to adopt changes to the quarantine rules by lifting the ban on entry of foreign citizens.

This was stated by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the minister Dmitry Kuleba, at a press conference in Budapest.

Kuleba, in particular, acknowledged that there is a need to lift restrictions on cross-border traffic, and Ukraine has already taken the first step. “We are resuming the work of border checkpoints”, he added. However, Ukraine plans to further liberalize the rules.

“Ukraine must resolve the issue of changing the rules for the entry of foreigners into Ukraine”, he said

The minister stressed that entry would not be uncontrolled, but the new rules would “allow” traffic across the border to be resumed.

According to European Truth, the government is considering allowing foreigners to enter under a 14-day quarantine, removing the current requirement for a residence permit.

The information about the planned mitigations was confirmed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Siyyarto.

“Ukraine has previously decided that only Ukrainian citizens can enter the country. This decision is still valid …, but we have agreed that in the coming weeks these restrictions will be lifted. When this happens – depends on Ukraine”, – he stated, assuming that the restrictions will be lifted gradually.
