Ukraine opened borders for foreigners – official source

Today the government of Ukraine held an extraordinary meeting and amended the cancellation of entry ban for foreigners because of COVID-19 quarantine measures. The work of checkpoints at airports and roads were resumed. This was announced by the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladyslav Krykliy.

“We continue to gradually rebuild our aircraft. Today, the Government decided to open checkpoints at Ukrainian airports and allow entry for foreigners who are not citizens of countries with a high prevalence of COVID-19 and have not been on the territory of such states for the past 14 days. These changes will make it possible to resume the work of air transport companies and establish international air services, “said the Minister.

According to him, such a decision is expected and is inextricably linked with the resumption of international scheduled passenger services in Ukraine from June 15.

“The prerogative to open borders will remain for countries with developed tourism and a favorable epidemiological situation. We are gradually opening the skies, but the safety and protection of our citizens remain a priority, ”Vladislav Krykliy added.
