Police stopped in Kharkiv region an SUV with fake seals and documents

In late February, the State Border Guard Service was informed of the disclosure of the scheme of illegal legalization of foreigners on the territory of Ukraine.

Police and SBU officers stopped the car at the Pesochin checkpoint on March 10, the communications department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region reports.

According to the SBU and police, operatives seized fake seals of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, stamps of the State Migration Service of Ukraine of different regions, facsimile of officials, personal stamp of the secretary of the embassy of one of the countries of the South Asia in Ukraine, as well as a tape with hologram stickers.

According to the police, fake seals were used to issue documents for foreign students and immigrants.

“The driver of a foreign car denies his involvement in this offense,” the head of the regional police department, Anatoly Dmitriev, wrote on the Facebook page.

Criminal proceedings were opened on the article “Forging Documents, Seals, Stamps and Forms” (Part 1, Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for punishment of up to two years of restriction of freedom.
