In the summer of 2017, renters prefer one and two-bedrooms apartments in the old housing stock of Kharkiv.

Prices for rental of residential property in Kharkiv in June 2017 increased by an average of 10% compared with the previous month. The demand of renters is gradually decreasing, which is argued by the departure of students from the city.

According to Kharkiv real estate agencies, renters are interested in one- and two-bedrooms apartments in the houses of the old housing stock of the city. Three-rooms renters prefer only if there is a new quality repair and affordable rental prices.

The average price range, in which renters prefer to rent housing, is 4500-5500 UAH.

In June 2017, the main requirements of renters realtors call the presence of quality conditions, as well as the necessary items of furniture and household appliances in the apartment. Customers pay attention to the location of the house. Apartments in houses that are located next to the metro station can be called a priority for renters.

Owners of housing put forward their demands for potential renters. Most often, owners do not want to put housing to clients who want to live in a rented apartment with pets, in connection with fear for the safety of expensive property. Also, some landlords refuse to conclude a deal for renting houses to families with preschool children.

According to realtors of Kharkiv, renters rent apartments in houses located in the center and close to it areas of the city – Kievskyi, Shevchenkovskyi and Pavlovo Pole. Housing in the KhTZ  (previous before last station on red line) area is of little interest to renters, which is explained by the remoteness of the array from the central part of the city.

In most cases apartments in new buildings of Kharkiv are preferred by foreign students or entrepreneurs. Preferred options for such housing can be called apartments in houses that are located within walking distance from the metro. Requirements for apartments in new buildings are different from those that renters put forward to housing in the houses of the old housing stock. Initially, the renters are interested in what kind of furniture is available. If some furniture items in the apartment are missing, customers are looking for other options for residential properties. It is also important for renters how much quality household appliances will be provided for use.

Developers in Kharkiv mainly conduct the construction of new LCDs in the central part of the city, so on the outskirts, most of the residential facilities are Soviet-built houses.

According to real estate agencies, 50% of renters are interested in housing with an already issued subsidy to reduce the cost of payment for housing and communal services. Specially to issue a subsidy to the owners of apartments, renters do not ask.
